Governance Function
The governance mechanism empowers SIX Protocol's node validators. To become a node validator, participants are required to stake SIX tokens on the protocol. In return, they receive:
Rewards
Earned from transaction fees and ongoing data verification tasks, ensuring validators are continually incentivized even during periods without active proposals.
Governance Rights
The ability to vote on proposals and influence the protocol's development. While there are no active proposals at this stage, the governance system is fully functional and ready to support decision-making as needed in the future.
This structure ensures active participation and alignment among stakeholders, fostering a secure and decentralized ecosystem. The design reflects a common practice across blockchain protocols, where proposals are introduced only when necessary, avoiding redundant decision-making. Validators play an essential role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the network, receiving rewards for their contributions regardless of governance activity.
